Happy Thanksgiving

On a small but significant historical side note.....On this day 44 years ago, 1963, John F Kennedy was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald, in Dallas Texas. You other folks were too young, or not even born yet to remember it, but it was a sad time in our country's history, made even more so by the 3 day funeral that was continually on TV. I still have the newspaper from the next day, with banner headlines detailing the crime, and the speculations of what happened.

I do remember the assassination of JFK, vaguely... very vaguely. I was so young that it really didn't have much of an impact on me. I remember my mom wouldn't believe my brother at first that he heard on TV the president was shot. She thought it had to be a television show he'd seen... and being a couple of days shy of 3, I wasn't taken seriously when I tried to confirm that it was real. She had to see it for herself to believe it.
