Monday 102907

Today I get organized. I am now ready to take advantage of all the 'free' time I have and accomplish all the things that occurred to me when I was working that I could be doing if I wasn't working.

#1 - finish scanning all my parents photographs which I've had a year now. I think I should maybe devote about 2 hours a day to this task.

#2 - Christmas crafts. I must have a dozen different things I've started over the past 10 years and never finished. It's either chuck 'em or put 'em on a schedule for completion. This will also require organization of the craft/toy area of the basement - again long overdue.

#3 - catch up on my reading. I have stacks of books I want to read. I started last night - I'm in the middle of Water for Elephants and next is The Road. Plus I have a lot of fluff I like to read. Rob is going thru all the Pulitzer winners atm so I might cull some of those out, too. He brought the current one to me last night, Scarlet Sister Mary - a 1st edition he picked up in CA - wanting me to decipher the signature in the cover. He'd tried to convince himself that it was the authors (it so was not lol) and that his book was not worth the $15 he paid for it but $6500.

#4 - diet and exercise. As always I need to 'get back on track' with this. *sigh* But I did weights, crunches and walked 3 miles today already.

Maybe it's the change of season, maybe it's just the start of a new week, but whatever it is I feel motivated for a change.

So.....what do you need to do?

1) Homework

2) Study

I should be able to fit eating in there somewhere...

You need to throw in a few keg parties.

A few in one day? If only I had the time.

Oh, mine were long term goals that just get started today.

I did manage to move my computer ALL BY MYSELF. So far everything is working tho I haven't tried the printer yet. My GOD that was a lot of cables, cords and wires.

All by yourself!? Someone deserves a big, fat cookie!

Mmmmm....cookie. Damn diet.

All you have to do is reach out and take it.

I'll keep that in mind. Licking the screen didn't work. But it was calorie and fat free.

I hope it was dust-free too, otherwise it wouldn't have tased very good at all.

As with a lot of things that get licked taste isn't alway the most important element - it's all in the mindset.

I'd like to coach a little league baseball team. I think it would be fun to tell the dads to stick it up their ass if they don't like the way I'm coaching their child prodigies. I would also like to take all the family tapes that I've taken over the years (since 1984....when Beta was in vogue) and xfer them someway, somehow, to DVD.

I have sorted out 4 bags of give away (toys, puzzles and craft stuff) and 2 bags of garbage from the basement. I haven't gone thru the Xmas stuff but I've got it out. There's always tomorrow.

I also make chicken and dumplings for tonight and have a big pot of tomato, onion & beef soup/stew cooking.

It's been a productive day, by jove. Maybe I'll even read a while in bed before I go to sleep tonight.

I'm already making tomorrow's list in my head: laundry, pay bills, scanning pix, xmas craft sort, more cooking, exercise...ah, life is short.

I guess we won't be doing trivia night out Wed this week since it's Halloween. Crikey! We haven't got pumpkins yet. Add buying and carving pumpkins to tomorrow's list. We never found any exterior lights for the house yet either. Home Depot and Lowes were both busts, Rob was supposed to check HD Expo ctr today - if he can't find anything there I'll be heading to some lighting stores tomorrow.

Do you live away from home at school, ie starving college student?

I do live away from home, but I'm not starving atm. We still have food in the reserves. I live in an apartment, so we have a kitchen and I cook. I cooked up some kielbasa for lunch and ate it with bbq sauce. I would have wrapped them in tortillas, but, alas, we're out of tortillas. I also make a killer grilled cheese sammich.

just buy a dvd recorder from walmart. you can hook up anything with rca jacks. any dvd issues you have, i'm your man. I can put almost anything on dvd. or remove it from dvd.

K, I got a question. I'm scanning photographs and burning CDs. My computer has a DVD burner on it.

Can I burn the scanned photos so that they can be viewed by either computer or DVD player? And if so, how?

I'm making the CDs for my sister but my parents don't have a computer. I'd like to make them copies they could view on their DVD player.
