| Luck holds. I braved the mall today. I had to go that way anyway, to the Toyota dealership to order a driver's side rear view mirror. Not me this time! Deanna busted her's off...on the garage door opening. We're going to come up with a different parking strategy around here, namely henceforth I am the only one with garage privileges. And there goes your new laptop for Christmas, Deanna.
There were no crowds and no lines (more than usual) but there was lots of merchandise to choose from and some great sales.
Katie's my hardest to buy for but the tween store, Justine's (formerly Limited Too), had everything in the store 40% off. I picked up a bunch of stuff (even a new Justin Bieber Tshirt - SCORE) and when she rang me up it was about half what I thought it would be. The Webkinz rang up under $9.
Speaking of Katie, she's getting her ears pierced tomorrow at the pediatrician's. *finger's crossed all goes well*
We got the tree decorated last night and I sent my last Christmas card (though I have a couple reserved to counter the receipt of any from unexpected sources - they better mail early!) yesterday. I sent one to ready - not sure if she'll get it. I sent one to Treesa - not sure if she'll read it. Hey, I even sent one to Lovechild...not sure she'll read it either. Ah well, one can hope for world peace, love and harmony at this time of year.
The wind continues to hinder the success of our outside decorations, however. It blew over the nativity scene which is made of wood. The wood did not break but it separated into three pieces so I had to haul it back into the garage to await Rob's return to fix. Today the wind had blown Santa around backwards and several large limbs have fallen around his reindeer. But at least the sun is shining so it's good.

| I haven't seen that commercial before. It's great - lol. I'd like to see the soldier take on the Burger King. Can you say cracked nuts? | |

| I've been braving the internet for almost all my shopping, and it's been absolute hell. My internet connection has been sooooooooooooooo slow for days - both at home and at work - which is so frustrating. It took about 40 minutes last night to order 2 portable hard drives (different colors) because it's taking about 5 minutes for a page to come up at times. I have a directive to go through some boxes I have sitting in the family room so we can put up the tree (oh joy, oh bliss) or they will be put in the garbage for me. I have nowhere to put anything of mine so I don't know what going through it is going to help. Truthfully, I hate this time of year because it reminds me that I'm paying the mortgage and I can't even have a small space of my own to put personal things. If it doesn't fit in my dresser or the small desk drawer I'm allowed in "our" desk, I have to put it in the attic. Some people here have their very own rooms and/or the entire garage. I am a bitter old scrooge. | |

| No, you are not a scrooge. You are put upon.
What you need to do is put a few(or a lot) of someone else's things in the garbage (or at least the attic) to make room for your stuff.

| On a sad note.....a friend of mine whom I work with has a daughter that's fifteen. You was slow to "starting a period". Her doctor put her on a BC pill.....the infamous "YAZ" three months ago. She now lies in Norton/Kosair hospital for children in Louisville in the ICU with a blood clot in one of her arteries between her lung and heart. The doc's give her a 50/50 chance of pulling through. Please say a prayer for her recovery. | |
