| There is a board I go to occasionally to post...a political board. It is where I first met Zencoyote. he posted there last night, saying that he was dying, and that he's going to join his ancestors today, that he was going to do it his way.....give his body to the coyotes. | |

| I would have thought canned and frozen foods had better nutrition than dehydrated. In fact, I recall reading something not long ago about how little nutrients were lost in both processes. I wouldn't trust the seller to provide the most accurate and complete facts. | |

| From Fox News: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,404901,00.html U.S. soldiers have donated more money to Democrat Barack Obama than to Republican John McCain. The Nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics only tracked donations of $200 or more. The center found that 859 members of the military donated more than $335,000 to Obama. McCain received more than $280,000 from 558 military donors. Among soldiers serving abroad, 134 gave just under $61,000 to Obama while 26 soldiers gave about $11,000 to McCain. | |

No, I skimmed. I had tuna salad twice this week. Made it with low fat mayo and it was not only diet right but tasted good.

| Yep, I saw that....interesting. Not even Republicans like me trust mccain. I don't trust Obama either. Hell, I don't trust any of these bastards. I'm just gonna quit worrying about the country and the mess it's in, and position myself for me and my family. The housing market bubble bursting ain't nothing compared to the credit-card debt debacle that's gonna be rearing it's ugly head pretty soon. | |

No, I skimmed. I had tuna salad twice this week. Made it with low fat mayo and it was not only diet right but tasted good. Go back and read it.......you really need to.

| K, I read it. I see why the site is called "Survival Acres" - they really turn the screws with the scare tactics.
I'm sure all that has an appeal to people like the ones who built bomb shelters in the 50s and thought the world was going to end Y2k.
I agree that we've seen the end of cheap energy and the cost of many things is going to go up. I also think they make a good point about all the things (ships, planes, trains, large trucks) that won't be able to use any of the proposed alternative energy sources.
BUT...we have huge amounts of coal and natural gas in this country. A crisis would stimulate transition and conversion would happen. Those resources aren't unlimited either but it would buy us time. And there is always nuclear energy. We aren't going to have a choice with that one.
And I think we'll see more locally grown foods in our stores. I believe supply and demand will work in our capitalistic society. If local farmers can make money they will grow what there is a demand for. Hell, not too many generations ago people grew their own food and raised their own meat. I've seen plans for high rise farms for cities that would feed dense populations.
But more importantly I am not filling my basement with dehydrated food stores in anticipation of end times. I don't have the room!

| Nope, not a word. If he did what he said he was gonna do, I guess he's coyote poop by now. I just knew him on online, but I believe he would do what he said he would do. | |
