Well, here it is.....hump day of my vacation......more than halfway over. I can feel the depression, the moroseness, the gloom and glum starting to seep into every cell of my body. It seems to ooze from every pore, leaking, like a thick, gelatinous venomous cloud that suffocates the good thoughts of my respit. Monday looms on the horizon, slowly, almost imperceptibly, daring to rear it's ugly head, it's leering, evil grin cutting through me, seering me, blistering my whole body, swelling me like a Ball Park Frank left too long on a redhot grill.

Heaviness takes hold of my limbs, my legs and arms feeling as if lead weights had been attached to them. Effortless movement, once taken for granted just yesterday, no longer exists, having been replaced by pressure equal to the Mariana Trench upon my muscle and sinew. My brain, once a consortium of lightning fast thought, clearness of direction, and a wit capable of cutting through steel, now lies listless, encased in muscle and bone that has become useless.

What evil being invented this thing called "Monday"? What sadist could be capable of inflicting such pain on a fellow being? To hold a glass of cool, sweet water in front of a man lost in the blazing hot desert, his throat parched, his lips cracked and dried, his blood thick as concrete, his eyes swollen.....and then gleefully snatching it away, all the while laughing at his misery and pain. Satan, Beezlebub, Mephisto, "da debel"....none of these names can equate to this kind of evil. Hitler, Stalin, Pol Pot.....these are saints compared to this one. No, none of those names are worthy of the being that has foisted this terror upon me. I know not his name, only that he has ingested me, devoured my very soul, and is preparing to expel me through his rotten, stinking asshole back into the working world. FUCK!

K, I had to look up Mariana Trench but other than that, niiiiiice.

Cheer up, I bet you have a dozen home improvement projects left to work on before Monday.

Yeh..I already went to home depot today.......With the exception of all the interior doors, all the painting is finished. I was going to start that today, and thinking about it, was going to replace the hinges holding them, switching them out from dull, and in some cases, rusty brass, to hinges painted with white enamel. They want 4.46 a hinge.....2 to the door.....12 doors.....about a hundred bucks for them. They're fucking nuts.....I'll just sand, prime and paint the old ones for about 10 bucks and an hour's worth of labor. And now.........you know what the Mariana Trench is.

I'd just clean the brass and leave the hinges unpainted. It will only get scratched up. Really if it were up to me I'd just live with the old ones, lol.

It's trivia night! Rob's in Chicago but I'm going anyway.

I'm flyin high on caffeine so I played my vampire game (getting reamed for gold tonight for the first time in months and months) and hangin out.

I was out in the back yard making a sacrifice to the two moons of Mars, Phobos and Deimos (Fear and Dread). I'm not an expert at this sort of thing, but on the whole, I think it went pretty well. I'll have to replant some grass seed tomorrow, I suppose, and I'll have to clean up a little before the neighbors complain too much, but that would be a small price to pay if they answer my request. I wish I hadn't bought all that dog food at Sam's last week, though. Now what the hell am I gonna do with it.

I tried that once before......the local cat lady kept calling my wife, telling her how I was trying to get her pussy. I got tired of explaining, so I just went to canines.

Have you got everything packed and ready for going home?

I'm in the process of cleaning the house and doing laundry in order to have something to pack.

I've given up on cropping individual pix out - I only got to the 600s so no way will I get thru the 1000s. But I dreampt up another project. I'll just burn a CD of what I have to take to my mom this weekend but I will (in theory) continue to work on the photos and make files for my aunts, uncles and cousins as I separate the pix and send them each a photo CD at Christmas. Mom had many of her mother's photos so I have grandparents and great-grandparents plus all the aunts, uncles, cousins, etc thru the years.

I figure even if they have copies of some of these photos they may not have them all or have them scanned. It's amazing how you can zoom in on details of old photos when you scan them. I don't know if I'll ever get it done or if they'll even like it but I think it's a cool idea. I'd love to get the pix of my family that others have taken - most of which I've prolly never seen before. Gotta love the digital age.

I suppose I'm gonna have to break down and learn how to do this kind of stuff. I have videos of the kids from 1984 through the present. The early ones were on Beta. I at least had the foresight to transfer all of those to VHS when Beta went dinosaur. Now I've got about 200 hours of video that age every day. Sooner or later, I need to find a way to transfer them digitally to a computer before they deteriorate too badly.

I just finished watching Troy. DAMN that's a good movie. I've seen it about 4 times. The fight scenes are realllllly good.

I finished the doors downstairs. Down stairs bathroom, door leading to the basement, and the swinging doors from the foyer to the kitchen. I've also partially done one of the upstairs bathrooms, and partially finished 3 of the bedrooms. All that leaves is the door to the Master bedroom, the closet and bathroom in it, and the three closet doors to the other bedrooms. WOOHOO.......and damn, I must admit, I do good work!

Man, you really know how to live it up on vacation.

Now, if you'll excuse me I have to go on vacation to my parents and sit in front of the tv (with sound turned up loud enough to hear it on the moon) watching tennis for two days.

Have a good time. I like watching women"s tennis. Their sleek, tanned muscular legs, their skirts bouncing up over their nice firm buttocks, the way they grunt when they hit..........oh, excuse me, I feel the call of nature.

Thanks, I'll try. I'm about to shove off. It's only a 5 hr ride and we cross into the central time zone so we gain an hour, hence the late start.

Hopefully I'll be able to use their computer some. I'll have to check and see if they have any kind of firewall before I get online.

If their computer is still running.....they have a firewall! If they didn't have protection, their computer would be so infested.............well, lets just say it would be in as good a shape as a man who lived in a Turkish brothel without access to condoms.

Turns out my dad may have sold his shop so this might be a working weekend for us. But I'm glad to be here to help out some.

He repaired heavy equipment plus odds and ends like welding and building trailers, lots of metal work. All the equipment is going with the shop but there is a lot of personal stuff stored there that has to be moved out. He's also licensed as a used gun dealer and kept a crapton of weapons, ammo and assorted gun stuff there that has to be moved, too.

The house already looks like we are expecting an invasion. There is a rifle behind every door, holstered handguns hanging off the backs of chairs, I'd say 60% of the drawers have a random gun in them. I so wish I were kidding.
