Friday 3-7-08

Apparently there was a little snow that fell this morning, but I wasn't awake to see it. Meh. I was born in Ohio, and I've seen enough snow from my early childhood to last me a life-time. It's funny being in Texas; there's always a big hype about snow. When it actually sticks, all my friends want to go outside and do stuff in it, but I'm content to just stay inside and laugh at them.

So far we have 6 inches on the ground.......and 8 more coming.

We're supposed to have snow showers in the morning. Katie and I have a two hour shift (10-12) selling cookies in front of Kroger. I'm hoping they might cancel.

It was really cold here today and we had flurries all day - but nothing stuck. They're predicting lake effect snow here for most of the next week, but I don't believe them.

We just had the tornado warning sirens going off. The temp is supposed to drop over 30 degrees tonight and stay there for tomorrow.

That's when there's not necessarily a storm, but the temperature and moisture content moving over the lake (in this case, Lake Michigan) make snow. Sometimes it keeps swirling around and coming back instead of blowing over like a regular storm. Where my brother lives, east of here, it happens at the end of almost every storm that goes through in the winter. They get A LOT of snow.
