I go out this morning and find both cars doors open. Doors still open, nothing taken except around 20 bucks in change in my side pocket. My wife's tennis racket and gym equipment still in hers, although the gym bag had been rummaged through. Next door neighbors.....same story. Probably some neighborhood parent's little bastards looking for some spending money. We leave our car doors unlocked, with not much in the cars, specifically to keep them from breaking windows, as this has happened before. The thing is, if I were by chance to catch them, and confront them, I'd probably wind up either 1. Shot or knifed, 2. Sued because I broke a bone or two in them 3. Entitled to go to court to see them let off with a hand slap if they just stood there and waited for the cops. Fuck it....I didn't even call them.

You never know, next time they might vandalize it. I'm sure it makes you feel violated that someone had the nerve to do that while you were yards away alseep.

If they'd closed the doors you might never have even noticed the missing change.

Stupid fucking juvenile delinquents.

Maybe a video camera? My grandaddy had a little one above his door just to keep people from messing with his house. His was in plain sight, but you can hide yours to catch them if it happens again, or you can put one in plain sight to ward them off before it happens. If you do that then you dont even have to have it record anything just as long as it looks "on."

Start setting your car alarm if you have one. You could also install some motion sensor lights around your house and garage.

Did ya know the European Union is adjusting their daylight saving time this weekend but due to our extended time we don't until next weekend? We'll be off kilter from them from now on unless someone adopts another change.

I've already got the motion detector lights. I guess I should have gotten up last night with the dogs barking, but if I did that every time they barked, I'd be a zombie. I'm just gonna look into the camera thing.

I don't know about everywhere, but here you can get a camera at walmart for $25 and it has sound too. you can just hook it to a vcr when you go to bed.

It might be a good idea to find one that has "night vision," so you don't have to rely on the motion sensor lights to see anything.

Interesting little story for ya:

So I was at the football game tonight, and me and 3 other friends had 45 yd line seats. We had the 4 outer seats 20 rows up on third deck, here's a pic of our stadium: http://yosemite.tamu.edu/images/kyle-field.jpg . The student section is opposite of the booth, and yes, this is a real fly-over pic. We had a Seahawk helicopter fly-over tonight. The student body always stands in support of our team on the field, and since we're not sitting, we tend to shift a bit; I was shifted into the aisle. Big whoop, right? There's people standing in the aisles during every game, and being this close to the 50, it was packed. The usher (some guy about 50 yrs old, short, curly brown hair under a ball cap, glasses, mustache, not fat, but not super skinny ) for the section got pissed that I was standing in the aisle, and from the entrance into the section, was waving for me to scoot in; not going to happen - it's just too packed. This wasn't even a "please could you scoot" look he was giving me - this guy is a dick. I ignore him. He keeps trying and I keep ignoring - he gives up for about 10 mins. He tries again, waving for me to scoot in. He's got his eyes wide open Shocked and he's mouthing "move in" at me - this guy means business Rolling Eyes. This time I don't ignore him, I shake my head and mouth "no" at him. He keeps motioning for me to move in, and I keep mouthing "no" right back at him rude. I did that about 6 times and then ignore him again and pay attention to the game, which we lost by the way. Then he gives me the "come here" finger; I know you all know the "come here finger." Ooooo, I'm in trouble now. Again I reply with my obstenate "no." He's pissed, and I'm laughing. He never even comes up to get me, and he never calls security, although, there's not much they can do but throw me out. That'll teach me. All he does is tell people that are coming up to tell "the guy in the hat and the glasses" (me) that he said to move over. Apparently manning his post was more important than coming to tell me in person. By now you're probably thinking that maybe this guy was a dick, but he had reason to tell me to move in; it's for my safety and for the courtesy and safety of all those around me - I understand that much, but what I don't understand is why he singled me out from the 20 or 30 other people also standing in the aisle irked. That's what pissed me off the most. I watched the rest of the game from then on, and he sent glares my way every now and then when he wasn't checking people's tickets, but that's not the end of the story. Him singling me out is eating at me, and the more I think about it, the more it pisses me off. We're down 19-3 in the fourth quarter, and my friends and I decide to leave. My roommate's gf is feeling bad, and me and my other friend were hungry. I grab my jacket, and we make the descent down to the exit - right to the usher. I walk around him and I don't say anything because I'm a non-confrontational kind of person, but he starts giving me the "come here finger." He starts trying to lecture me on how bad it was for me to stand in the aisle, but I cut him off. I say "I know, I know. Fire hazard - I know" right to his face and keep walking; not looking back, ignoring him as he says, "Then you should have moved!" rant But I keep walking and ignore him which pissed him off even more, which made me feel better. Yeah, I was a jerk, but I'm only a jerk to people who are jerks to me.

We ended up losing the game 19-11. Bad plays by our coach. That and some other illegal thing he did this year is getting him fired. Most the students can see it coming.

George H. W. Bush and Secretary of Defence Gates were at the game presenting a Marine with a medal; I can't remember which one atm. I want to say the Department of Defense Distinguished Service Medal. I'll find out for sure on Monday and post it if anyone's really interested. The guy also has 2 Purple Hearts - looked like a grenade or something went off near his face. :/

My roommate and his gf went back to the apartment and watched a movie. Me and my other friend went to Bennigan's where I ate and entire monte cristo order on a bet. Fries and all. Man am I stuffed. It was only a fun bet though, I don't get anything from it, other than proving I'm man enough to eat the whole thing.

Not that's a fucking post, Shiny! It would behoove the rest of you to take notes and follow his example here.

How far away was the usher from you - like maybe he was singling out others too but your guility conscious was making you think it was always you.

I'd have pointed out the others whenever he motioned for me or even pointed to my friend one seat in placing all the blame on him - "this sob won't let me in! why don't you come talk to him." lol

No, it was just me he was talking to. I was 20 rows up from the entrance, and he could easily see everyone else in the aisle behind me. Here's what the entrances into sections look like:
Saturday 10-27-07 Football
I was actually standing a little farther up than "my" dot (and this is a pic of second deck, but it all looks the same. It was easy to see I was the only one he was talking to because there was no one else he could be talking to. Thre's only one aisle. He only talked to me because I was the first in the "line" of people standing in the aisle. I was not guilty at all for standing in the aisle. If he ever came up to talk to me, I would have said something like, "If you can tell this entire row to move over, then I'll get out of the aisle."

And something I left out: I didnt completely ignore the guy the first time. After I saw him motiong at me, I tapped my roomie on the shoulder and said (in total seriousness), "The guy down there wants me out of the aisle." My roommate said, "Uhhh," as he looks down the row, "that's not gonna happen," so I look back down at the usher and throw my hands up and shake my head. Then I start to ignore him for the first time.

My roomie also had one foot in the aisle, while his gf stood behind him and our other friend ("doubled up") while they stood on the bleachers for the entire game. Our 4 seats turned into 1 and a half seats.

You Texans love your football. No way would I stand that long. I'd be sitting....even if it was in the aisle.

Pictures are done. I have no clue how they'll look but I had to squat for one of the group. eyebrow It is impossible to hold your stomach in while squatting not to mention shoulders back, chin up, eyes open, etc... lol

Now I'm off shopping for new exterior lights for the front door and garage. No workers showed all weekend, btw, and it's not because of the weather - it's absolutely gorgeous.

Here's the Marine I was talking about: 1st Lt. Dan Moran

Saturday 10-27-07 Award

The caption under the picture says:
Secretary od Defense Robert Gates awrads 1st Lt. Dan Moran, Class of 2003, the Navy Commendation Medal with a "V" for Valor during Saturday's halftime show at Kyle Field. Moran suffered severe burns when he was struck by an improvised explosive device Oct. 21, 2006, in Ramadi, Iraq, while serving with the Weapons Company, 1st Battalion, 6th Marines.

One can only hope he's getting good care in the VA system...along with all the thousands and thousands of other injured soldiers coming home. You would think that would be a given but unfortunately it is not.
