| Not one new post since I left last night? Hmmpft. WoW is eating the soul of zvon, bam and i'mshiny I just know it.
It's raining here and is going to be raining for the next two days. Thank goodness. We are under a total outdoor water ban and they are coming for our indoor water usage next. Our camp was on one of the lakes that supplies Atlanta with water - it's over 12 feet low. I took some pix with a disposable camera - when I get them developed I'll post some. All our water activities were cancelled because no canoes, paddleboats or even pontoon boats allowed.
They are talking about trucking water into Atlanta in the next few months. That's a lot of trucks.
So this 2 day rain won't do much to reverse the drought...but it's a start. | |

| I've been trying to save the environment by not drinking any water....just beer and diet coke. Hey, it's a start! | |

| And I've also been holding my showers to a 15 minute limit.....down from 20. I refuse to quit flushing the toilet, although I have stepped out onto the back deck at night and personally watered a few patches of grass. | |

| I get to spend the day with my daughter. She has taken the day off from work and found it in her heart to let me do some work on her house. | |

| That's some vacation you got started, baldar. Don't forget to buy her lunch. I bet you could even talk her into a matinee after if you really wanted to get out of more work. Oh, man, the siding truck just pulled up. I thought they were going to get started or something but they are just dropping the siding off. | |

| It started off real well too. They called me from work around 6:45, thinking I overslept. "Check the schedule" says I "you will find that I'm on vacation". Says she "Oh, Dawson, I'm sorry.....I was looking at last week. Did I wake you up?" "No" says I "I always sound this disoriented." | |

| I couldn't go back to sleep, so I just got up and came back to my little nook, turned on the computer, checked the Asian and European markets, and felt the hidden pit in my stomach expand exponentially when I turned on the TV and looked at the pre-open futures. | |

| Don't take this the wrong way, but aren't you supposed to be moving away from the high risk investments at your age? And I say that because I'm assuming you have invested wisely enough already to be able to enjoy early retirement. Of course, I'm very cautious and barely have over 1/2 of my (piddly) investments in high yield/high risk areas already. Not that I trade or anything (wouldn't know how), just in picking my 401k investment options. Any extra we might have we stick in CDs because we don't want to risk losing anything. Damn, they are done with the siding and it looks likes the windows are here. Fuck it all, I still havent' showered. | |

| And they are thinking about getting started on the windows. In the fucking rain. Which I wouldn't care about so much other than I wanted to have the house straightened up a bit before I had people all over it. And that fucking shower. | |

| Hey, my carbon monoxide alarm in the basement is going off every 2 minutes or so. Like just one beep, not like the alarm. I replaced the battery and it's still doing it. Think I should be concerned? We did have to run the furnace yesterday when we came home but I turned it back off last night. | |

| Oh, so you are sick of hearing from me now? Well, tough. Another truck just left and now two more are here. The first one re-arranged the siding on the parking pad and said he was getting us a smaller dumpster so we could use our driveway. Now there's a flatbed with some kind of lumber on it (we have to rebuild the chimney box, I think that's what it's for) and another truck with the smaller dumpster. They are all having to maneuver around the edges of the driveway which is lined with sprinkler heads. No doubt they are cracking half of them off and water is leaking underground....or will if we ever get to use the sprinkers again. Dammit Rob better get back in town tomorrow on schedule and keep his ass here until this work is finished. | |

| How is the fat free cool whip? I was thinking of trying some with my sugar free jello. I really hate to start with the artificial foods but I CRAVE sweets. I am ice cream jonesing again. | |

| I like it. In fact, I am planning on folding the Cool Whip into the pudding. It's really, really good - not calorieless, but tasty and not too horrible for the figure. | |
