Can it really be 2009? Remember the whole Y2K transition - that could not have been 9 years ago.

What have you guys got going on this weekend? Anything fun?

I've got a solar system project to get started building - this should be the last f'ing 3-D solar system I ever have to build. I would say "help build" but who would I be kidding. Elementary teachers hate parents and their way of sticking it to them is assigning projects throughout the year.

You know what I miss?

Bacon sandwiches.

I never liked bacon sandwiches.....the bread always diluted the taste of the bacon grease.....I just like bacon as bacon. I dealt cards till 4am last night......didn't play, just dealt. A friend of mine started up a friday night card game, and asked me to deal. I used to do it three or four nights a week a few years back, but just got burned out on it, and quit them all. But, it was good money, so when he asked, I decided to try it for a while. My head feels like there's about a pound of sand in it. Cigar smoke, cigarette smoke, constant noise.

The only thing I don't like about trivia night is the smoke. My clothes stink which wouldn't matter except my coat always stinks, too. My hair is so bad I refuse to sleep on it and wash it no matter how late we get in. Usually my throat hurts the next day. And the second hand smoke acts as a powerful stimulant keeping me tossing and turning plus giving me bizarro dreams. The morning after I usually feel hungover even tho I don't drink or smoke.

Bizarro dreams can sometimes be nice......

Sadly they are never that kind of dream.

Mayo on the bread makes the bacon sandwich. Yuuuuuuuuuuum.

I just got my last quarter statement from my old employer, New York Life. I lost over $7,000 from Oct 1 to Dec 31.

Ouch!

If it makes you feel better, you're in good company! Our fedex stock is down to 56 bucks, from a high of 121. My UPS stock is down in the mid 40's, from a high of 80. And my 401k seems to be in freefall. The politicians and their wall-street brethern have really screwed the American people......dem and rep both.

It really doesn't make me feel better, lol. I still have slivers of hope it will rebound before I die.

On a positive note, Cigna finally negotiated their contract with my medical providers.
