Next month, cell phone numbers can be released to telemarketers. The national "do not call" number to register your ph nr to NOT BE CALLED is 1 888 382 1222. It takes about a minute. You need to call from the phone you want to block from these calls. Today is the last day to register. If you don't do it today, and you want to do it later, it takes about a month to be put on the register. I just registered my cell, and my wife's. Called my son and daughter, and gave them the number.

Thanks for the heads up, Baldar. It would totally suck to have telemarketers calling my cell. I checked out Snopes and according to them, this is a false rumor that circulates a lot this time of year.

Snopes info is 5 years old.....it references things back to 2004. I have it on the highest authority that this will happen......some guy said so.

It does go back 5 years, but if you look at the bottom, it says it was updated in 2008.

With many cell phone plans charging for minute use I can't see telemarketing being allowed. People will revolt.

DOUBTERS BE YE, EH? Ok, ok.....just don't come crying to Baldar when Billy Mays or Vince starts calling you.
