Well, I made it through another birthday... whew!

Today I'm making a turkey dinner. My older daughter got a turkey at work, and since I didn't host Thanksgiving, I still have it. We have no room in the freezer or refrigerator for it, so I've got to cook it. And if I roast a turkey, there's no way I'm not making the stuffing or gravy. Some people here will be pissed if there's no mashed potatoes so I've got to make them as well. Cheesy cauliflower and crescent rolls will round out the meal (and my figure).

Sounds heavenly. Unfortunately it's back to beans, peas and bran for me until Christmas so I can still wear my clothes.

Speaking of clothes, I DID go after T-day shopping on Friday and got some fantastic bargains. I've been looking for a winter coat a little dressier than the stadium jacket I always wear when it's cold and I found the perfect Pea Coat and it was two-third's off - at Goody's where the prices are low already.

If I gain any more weight I won't be able to wear it, tho. Unlike baldar, I wouldn't mind having some more boobs but the damn pounds seem to go straight to my waist no matter how many crunches I do.

I bought a just lovely new three speed drill yesterday at Lowes Home Center. I adorned it with a stunningly put together drill bit set, made of oodles of different alloys for the job you need to do with them (wood, metal, masonry). I complemented the whole ensemble with a small hand held electric screwdriver, with both forward AND reverse, and an extra battery! I was practically giddy when I checked out at the sales clerk, and my euphoria must have been infectious to him also, as he lovingly placed the items in a bag as he checked them, running his hands over the smooth lines of the handles, and inspecting each little bit before he would allow them to be rung up. We must have appeared foolish to the other customers, giggling like we were at each other.

Aw, that's exactly how I feel about my new coat. I was so concerned about it being handled with care during the packing up that my family started teasing me - saying they lined the dog's bed with it or they wrapped up some old greasy tools in it.

oh, you're going to cook! Ok, I want bluberry pancakes with ice cream and lots of bacon.


....oh, and pie. gotta have pie.

I told you we are on a strict diet around here. It'll be peas or nothing.

Me cooking IS actually something to remark on since I try to avoid it most of the time. I'm sorry but neither pancakes nor pie are on the menu today.

I also made a spectacular purchase this weekend. Okay, it wasn't really spectacular - more like peculiar - for me anyway. It's sort of my birthday present and I didn't expect to ever have one, or at least not for a long, long time.

I finally got.... *drumroll* ...a cell phone.

I really have no reason to have one, but I will enjoy not being stared at like some one-eyed, hunch-backed hermaphrodite when someone asks for my cell number.

Crap.... I've gotta get back to the food making.

no pie??

Nobody at my inlaws likes punkin pie so no punkin pie this year.

We did have pecan pie, carrot cake and this frozen ice cream sandwich kind of dessert. Which was more than enough, lol, but still.....if it's Thanksgiving there should be some damned punkin pie! *cries with pd*

If I was going to cry about not having a dessert, it would be no birthday cake for me. Again.

yes, punkin pie, pecan pie, pudding pies, PIE DAMN IT! lol

There will be no pie today!

I did remember that there was some friendship bread in the freezer - which is almost like cake - so I'm thawing that out for dessert. Maybe I'll make a glaze for it...

Well, it's ready to eat... I just have to wait for someone to carve the turkey.
