30 Rock

Ok, I'm in. I had never seen an episode but I never heard anything but good buzz on this one. I like Tina Fey a lot and Alec Baldwin, too, even considering the parenting debacle.

I've dropped My Name is Earl so this fit right in - but surely The Office isn't going to remain an hour show. I guess the lineup will change.
But anyway, Seinfeld was certainly a draw but the show was good enough without him - tho it was great use of a guest star. It looks like there are plenty more great guest stars in the future, too. Normally, that sucks in a sitcom but since this is based in the entertainment industry rather like Garry Shandling's show it works here.

I watched this and its an enjoyable show.
I'm a Tina and Alec fan myself (Alecs SNL appearances were all pretty classic - I'm no real fan of his movie stuff.) and they are both easy to watch in this setting.

But the show doesn't grab me as 'must see TV'. I feel no urgency to commit it to my schedule or go out of my way to watch it.
Its really neat though.
Thats a series I can jump into anytime and probably enjoy the show.


And I really enjoyed watching the show online.
The sound especially (maybe cuz I was listening in headphones)
was really excellent.
Those commercials were only around 30 seconds long.
I may find myself watching more TV online.

I totally agree with that. I've only seen the one episode and it's almost like a sketch show -you can jump right in.

I think this is the 3rd season and it's kind of hard to believe - the characters don't seem to have any depth beyond what I saw in the 30 minutes. It seems like one you could miss with no problem or watch out of order and still enjoy it.

But it had some great jokes - MILF Island?!!!

The LudaChristmas episode was awesome. How could I have not been watching this show?!

Best line. Jack and his mother having dinner with the Lemmons and Liz's dad says they don't dicuss politics because "Life is too short" Jack says:

"Really? (laughing) Life is too short?" Jack leans toward his mother and behind his menu whispers "because your life seems endless."

The Jimmy Carter crack was good, too. Alec Baldwin is perfection.
