Since this is the Daily Blaaaaaaaaaahg section, I think it's appropriate for me to post here how blaaaaaaaah I'm feeling today. I woke up with a killer headache and upset stomach. I just can't be sick. There's simply too much to do right now.

Did you have your windows open? I hope it wasn't enza that flu in.

LOL... I did have my windows open, but I believe I've had all the enza that's been flying around this year. I'm going to attribute it to a huge blood sugar drop. (doesn't that sound tasty?)

Grrl, it seems you have been sick a lot lately...and winter is just getting started. Do you guys get flu shots?

I had one once, only because I was at the doctor's for a check up at the time they were dispensing them. Katie's had a few because she's considered to be in a high risk category but she's never had the flu and again, it's because we were at the doctor's anyway.

Last week there was a table set up in Walmart's pharmacy of all places with a nurse giving out H1N1 shots. There were plenty of people around but no one seemed interested in getting the shot.

I use the Zicam zinc nose spray at the 1st hint of cold symptoms. I have no concrete data that it works ~ how do you know if you would have gotten sick without it? ~ but I've had only good results.

I've never had a flu shot, and I'm pretty sure that neither of my girls has either. On the other hand, t.o.m. gets one every year, and last year got the pneumonia one as well. I'm not sure if he got the H1N1 or just the regular one.

I'm fairly certain that H1N1 is what I had last month because of the severity, but without a test I guess I'll never really know. You're right that I've been sick a lot lately. I've taken about the same amount of sick time in the last 2 years as I did for the 19 years I was at the newspaper. Some of that is because my employers would rather have me stay home than take the chance of catching whatever I've got, which is the opposite of the drag-yourself-in-if-you're-not-dead mentality of a big corporation.

I've gotten a flu shot every year for the past ten years. Haven't had the flu in that time, and only a coupla colds. Rush Limbaugh swears by Zicam....in fact, it's one of his biggest sponsors.

That man knows his pharmaceuticals.
