Yep, it's Friday. That is all.

Those new brown sugar and cinnamon Ritz crackers? Not as good as they sound.

However, the holiday Ritz (stamped liked snowflakes but regular flavor) look so deliciously pretty and festive on top of my soup.

I've done almost 10 Christmas cards. The girls bitch and moan so much every year when I make them pose for a picture to send with cards that I decided not to even ask this year. I thought, better for us all to avoid the angst and agnoy. And now they are both disappointed I'm not sending one out with the cards ~ go figure.

Since deciding to send money/gift cards to half the people on my list (I know, an impersonal gift reeking of laziness....but if the shoe fits) I can breathe again. It's the members of my immediate family that are the kickers. Tick. Tock.

Don't feel bad about giving the gift cards. That's what I plan to do with relatives that I would have to mail things to (and why not give the recipient the full allocation of the gift monies instead of having it depleted by UPS and USPS by shipping large or heavy objects to the intended domiciles?) I understand that sending cash or a gift card is basically admitting that you have no idea what to get that person, but isn't it also more considerate to allow them to get something they actually want instead of saddling them with something they don't? The fact that doing so may be good for them but bad for you is the height of selfless giving, I say. Besides, some people have told me they much prefer gift cards, so it's not an absolute rule.

I've also obviated the whole logistical problem of gathering for the holiday photo by just doctoring photos taken previously in the year for the occasion and that seems to have made that chore a lot easier as well.

I don't think there's anything wrong with gift cards. It's much better and more appreciated, imo, than just grabbing whatever you happen to see while you're shopping.

I've got my Christmas cards sitting here, but I haven't bothered to do anything with them yet. suspicious

I saw the ones you put on f/b - OMG, how cute! My extra super favorite: the Simpson's one! I wish a) my family were as cooperative or at least b) I had your mad computer graphic skillz in artificially creating my visions. A couple of years ago I SO wanted the girls to dress up as wise men and offer gifts to the wooden cut out nativity scene in our yard for our Xmas card pix...you'd have thought I asked them travel across the desert following the North star looking for a baby.

LOL!

How well I know that look! It always seems to follow one of my requests for someone to do something that takes a slight bit of effort.

That would have been a very cool pic too.

Hahaha, that would have been a good one! I guess I'm lucky that everyone is willing to play along (of course, most of the time they had no idea what the final product was going to look like). If you can't realize your visions, you can at least give me some ideas, because I ran out of good ones at least three years ago.
