I remember when the song....and dance...."monster mash" came out, way back in the mid 60's. There was a teen dance held every Friday night, called "The Flame", where we would gather to dance, meet girls, and sneak out to the car to drink beer.....or makeout. Usually we had a live band, but this time, all we had was a dj, spinning records. He played the monster mash, and everyone was dancing to it, when a guy from a rival high school "mashed" the foot of a guy who went to ours. Of course, a fight ensued, and the two security guards were wayyyyy overmatched in trying to handle it. To make a long story short, they closed the club down for two weeks, and banned the song from ever being played there again. We really didn't care....we could always find an excuse to fight.
