| I hate to disagree with you again, but I think he's simply a very conservative guy. | |

| I'll admit I must be a hypocrit. It would seem I have thin liberal skin. I like to think funny is funny no matter who is being made fun of and lord knows I have no fondness for Pelosi but I rarely find conservative humorist funny. Not that I find all liberal humor funny and not that this guy is trying to be a humorist with his blog but conservative people like Coulter, for instance, who are trying to be funny seem to miss the mark with me. That said, I've nothing against anyone enjoying humor whether or not I find it funny. | |

| I didn't find it funny at all. The sight of Nancy Pelosi or Barney Frank basically makes me nauseous. | |

| I didn't find it funny exactly. I thought it was an interesting way to make a statement. | |

| I'm not sure what to think about GM. Not that it matters what I think. I bet everyone here hates Michael Moore to some degree and I don't agree with his ideas about what to do with GM here but he made some interesting points in his lead up. - Quote :
- It is with sad irony that the company which invented "planned obsolescence"—the decision to build cars that would fall apart after a few years so that the customer would then have to buy a new one—has now made itself obsolete. It refused to build automobiles that the public wanted, cars that got great gas mileage, were as safe as they could be, and were exceedingly comfortable to drive. Oh—and that wouldn't start falling apart after two years. GM stubbornly fought environmental and safety regulations. Its executives arrogantly ignored the "inferior" Japanese and German cars, cars which would become the gold standard for automobile buyers. And it was hell-bent on punishing its unionized workforce, lopping off thousands of workers for no good reason other than to "improve" the short-term bottom line of the corporation. Beginning in the 1980s, when GM was posting record profits, it moved countless jobs to Mexico and elsewhere, thus destroying the lives of tens of thousands of hard-working Americans.
Here's a link to the whole thing but the gist of it is he wants to use the infrastructure to build light rail and other kinds of green transport: Goodbye, GM I might work for the small island of Japan but the US is damn huge. Light rail cannot connect all the places we need connections....not for a very long time anyway. | |

| I have no sympathy for GM....nor the union people.....they made their bed with unrealistic demands for wages and benefits, against stiff competition. No company can withstand paying their retirees 95% of their union pay, with medical benefits, and survive for very long. It was estimated that of the total cost of a vehicle built, $11,000 of that was for retirees. Just like social security, that kind of madness is unsustainable. | |
