What do you do with your bills once you've paid them?
I throw them directly into the garbage.

There was some discussion at my home this morning about record-keeping, and we decided to see what other people do with their bills after they've paid them by polling people we know online.

I have the current year files in my office. With the new year I move the old year to the basement file making room by shredding the oldest year still filed. Bills and medical files I only keep about 2 years. Bank statements and tax returns I keep for 7 years.

PS - I pay all my bills online but can't bring myself to go completely paperless and use ebills. They might be hacked or screw up!

I'd throw em in the draw I use for bullshit stuff made out of paper. Toss em when I can no longer close that drawer.
