Fringe. The only new show I'll be sticking with.

It has a developing backstory and it's only 6 episodes in, atm.

This is one of the few shows I consider "can't miss".

The first season was split by that writers strike so it lasted like 2 years.
The first season's finale was aired a few weeks ago.

No doubt in my mind that the split season, and Fox's schedule meddling (American Idol trumps ALL)hurt this show.
Actually, I'm amazed it even survived.

I have to say that after the finale I thought "Wow, this is even better than I thought it would be."

I have a recorded copy of every episode so I did something I've never done before.
Went back and re-watched the whole season.
Worth it.
Cause of the delay's in airing many details were forgotten.

After reviewing: most awsum series on TV imo.

At first I thought this would be somewhat of an X-Files clone, and that would be okay by me.
Loved the X-Files and there's a void for that type of entertainment in my book.

But it's totally not.
And it does fill that void.

The characters are likable and the plots are really out there. What's not to love?

I'm pretty sure I have mentioned here about my hatred for TV guide for the last decade or so....
ever since they went magazine size (that was strike one,lol).

They feel like its their duty to tell you about stuff before it happens in the show, annoying me to no end.

So for a long time now I wouldn't read the thing til after the week was over so they could not ruin my watching experience.
I don't like to know ANYTHING aside from whats been established by past episodes before I watch a show.

Got this weeks and saw a lil thing about Fringe and I thought : seasons over, they can't fuck it up for me now. I'm gonna read this.

They go on to write about a crucial element of the plot that will become apparent in the 1st episode of next season!

And the exec producer gave them the info in an interview segment within the piece.
So now he's an icehole in my book.

It was a real kool thing he pointed out, which actually makes the show even more interesting to me.
But I'm sure I would have viewed the finale one more time before it returned in the fall and I would have liked to have
been given the opportunity to spot what he revealed myself.
After all, the clue was right there on the screen.

And if I didn't spot it I also wouldn't have minded waiting and being hit with it in next seasons premiere.

Damn you TV guide. You got me again.
Can't wait til all my nieces and nephews are past the age where they do that subscription thing for school.
If it wasn't for that I'd never even get the mag.

Next year I'm going with House & Garden or Popular Mechanics or something.

I hate spoilers but I love info on my favs so I get screwed a lot.

I also hate when movie trailers put all the funniest moments in the trailer. I am loving the trailers for The Hangover but feel like I've already seen half the movie.

I hear ya.

Same with some action movies when the most breathtaking effects are shown in a trailer.
With comedy it's worse, cause for most comedy to work right some element surprise is required.

Why does the entertainment business feel they have to do this?

A few reasons come to mind, the foremost being they don't think we have enough intelligence to insult.

They should hire us as consultants.

Then again all they want is our $8-$12. Once the consumer is in the door they're pockets are lined.
