This is one of the few 1st run TV shows I have stuck with in recent years. [Others being Battlestar Gallactica, 24, Dr.Who,and the whole Sunday night line-up on Adult Swim, always the Simpsons and South Park(tho they are easy to catch in sindication-dont feel a need to catch them 1st run)-...yes, I look for escapism and cartoons]
Lets talk about Heroes here.

I haven't seen Heroes. Will I be able to figure out what's going on if I just jump in now?
Rose much too perspicacious to be taken in by so spurious an argument

This is one of the 'new shows' I was excited about but never got around to watching.
Now it just annoys me because it's so popular it's everywhere - that fucking cheerleader GAH - it just highlights how out of the pop culture loop I am, dammit.

I cant say for sure because I have intentionally avoided reading anything to do with it because I dont wanna know whats gonna happen. (FUCKIN TV guide anymore thinks its their job to spoil your watching experience--i really think they live for this)
But, the storyline from last season, Save the Cheerleader, Save The World was a wrap, I think its safe to say. They closed that up nice and neat. Great tale. Some things left hanging, but a new overall plotline will be in motion.
Im glad they allowed Sylar to escape (if thats what happened there), cuz he was such a fantastic villian. One of the best ever. If Hiro (pictured 1st post) was the ying, then Sylar was the yang. Thats Japanese for those 2 made the show.
I think all the 1st season can be seen online at NBC.com. Id have to check that tho--I know they did have them there.
I think the only thing you need to know going in this season is:
*Peter and his politician brother took a trip that should have killed then both. Hope not.
*Sylar was taken down just as the comic from the future indicated and although he slithered away like a snake as everyone was busy watching Peter and and his brother shoot into orbit and explode, I don't think he will be back as the nemisis and as an active character this season. I understand the actor who played Sylar has been chosen to play Spock in the next Star Trek movie. I do hope he does return someday--hopefully season 3 or 4 or....
* Hiro, the guy who can fold time, was somehow transported to Japan in some point of its ancient history, and looked to be in the kind of pickle Peabody and Sherman used to get in.

I just re-read my post up there and got a big laugh at this.
Like a 70 year old Dane Cook went back in time to do some bizarre stand up routine or something.
Ahhh, I love it when I crack myself up.
Comicbook. The word I should have used is COMICBOOK.
Anyways, I'm gettin pumped. Monday the new Heroic season starts.

The 1st two Heroes episodes did not disappoint me in the least.
Very well done. And after watching, in retrospect I guess seeing the 1st season would make many things clearer to anyone who jumps in this season.
If anyone is watching who didn't see the 1st season, like you Bam, and have any questions because your unclear or confused, feel free to ask.

It is a little bit confusing... maybe I'll understand by the end of the season.

One thing about a show of this kind : you have to lend yourself, your imagination to it. You have to suspend disbelief. I really view this more like a live action comicbook than anything else. So I don't expect much as far as depth.
But I'm having some small problems with how the story is going so far.
I understood there would be new 'heroes' introduced this season, and thats all well and good. But I dunno about the odds of the 'heroes' from the first season running into and discovering the new 'heroes'. That seems to have happened twice now, with Claire meeting that flyboy and Hiro finding out about Takezo Kensai being able to heal himself.
What are the odds that 'heroes' would be the first to meet newer 'heroes'? Is this gene situation of epidemic proportions? And if the gene that they share is supposed to be involved in the process of evolution, whats some English guy with a Japanese name doing healing himself (with powers similar to Claire) way back in 1671? Hey, maybe evolution is that slow. I dunno.
Anyways, I have a lil problem with 'heroes' discovering 'heroes' by chance. A bit of a stretch for me. But I have thought they were pushing it before, and they have come across with sufficient explanations for such things in the past. So we'll see.
I like the other story lines so far. Peters is particularly interesting. Looks like he now has everyones power, which was destined to happen when he came in close proximity with Sylar in last seasons closer, and absorbed all the powers that the villian collected.
True, he could have blown em all to Killarney and taken his lil box of personality from them, but he was in a confused state. He also seems quite smitten with the lass who has that HUUUUUUGE cranium.
Ohhhh,....and Sylar IS in this season and he's back. OOOOOOoooo,...this almost frightens me. Seems a little out of sorts though, poor wickedly evil devilish dude.
I read this somewhere - a hilarious thought:
....wouldn't it have been neat if when Claire snipped off her toe, that she would grow a new toe and that the old toe would grow a new Claire?
That cracked me up good.
(I also have questions like : How does Claire family expect to keep a low profile when they live in that beautifully big house on just the income of a copy machine store clerk. If they can afford to live there why does her dad work at all?)

Once again heroes bump into other heroes.
Who speaks in maths here? What are the odds?
I'm going to have to look to see if this seasons shows are being written by the same people who wrote last seasons.
There some kool stuff going on, and then there is some contrived stuff going on that.... yes...it frightens me.
Cuz I don't wanna fall out with this show.

There are actually a few reasons that make some sort of sense that could explain why these heroes are running into each other.
I wish I knew more about the background from previous seasons. Are these people usually born with their powers or do they just develop them at some point? Is there some higher being that bestows the powers on them?
One reason that they are bumping into each other could be that maybe there are more and more of these heroes all the time... whether it's just chance or it's a higher power preparing for an evil that is lurking just around the corner. If there are more and more of them, the chances of them bumping into each other are going to increase.
Or it could just be that over time they are noticing each other. A normal person isn't going to be aware of these heroes and if they see anything out of the ordinary, they're bound to think their minds are playing tricks on them, whereas the people with powers will believe and even look for others that have it.
Also, people do tend to gravitate toward like-minded individuals, so the more they have in common with each other, the more likely it is that they would naturally attract each other.
The fact that they are meeting each other in greater numbers this season isn't necessarily a contrived situation. Or maybe it is. I've only seen a few shows.

I was thinking back to the first season, and upon reflection, all the heroes were running into each other then too.
But it never seemed forced or odd or too much. It just seemed like a natural flow in a good story. Ill go over those meetings.
Maybe I'm expecting too much after the gem that was last season.
Last week, the Mexican black oil siblings are on a dirt road in the middle of nowhere and they almost run over Sylar? To me this is a bit much.
More so than a hero being in Claire's class in school.
I'll let things things go for now and see how it develops. Maybe these people are predisposed to their own company. Maybe we should open a up country club for heroes.

I thought you might enjoy this.
The lyrics:
"Hazy Shade of Killer” by Carrie Dahlby (p. simon) (Bangles)
One, two, three Heroes killed on t.v…
Pe – trel - li He was killed on t.v. While he told the world His impossible story Gunman so hard to see…
Look around Duck way down Cuz this guy Is a hazy shade of killer
No help from Peter or Parkman From Season One victory It’s very contradictory Shot down by one man… Carried a gun in his hand…
See the sky Fly up high Cuz this guy Is a hazy shade of killer
Claire’s blood could bring back Nathan That’s an easy thing to say But the Company has final say In who tries her cure Is Nathan a goner for sure?
Take a guess Sylar’s mess? Peter’s bad? Or did Claire’s Dad kill her birth Dad?
Season two ended abruptly Writer’s strike changed their history Don’t forget Nathan Petrelli
Look around Hit the ground Cuz this guy Is a hazy shade of killer
Niki died Noah’s live Hiro’s burying the Sensai
Suresh saved Sylar’s raised Maya’s black tears are all the rage
Molly’s dreams Did nothing There’s an assassin in the wings

HaHA, thats cute.
I was a lil disappointed in the first few episodes this season cuz it thought they might get all soap operaee on me, but the last two were RIGHTON MAN!
Esp the one that had events involving lesser or newer characters overlapping events that occurred with the main cast in season one. That was one brilliant piece of writing.
